Santa not up for the job this day

“December is full of the beauty of Light and love we can bring into our life. You  can choose to be stressed or you can choose to let the small stuff go and be peaceful this Holiday season. It really is a choice you make.” Eileen Anglin

Even Santa Claus can have a bad day. The forlorn look of boredom on this little girl’s face (Evie) tells even the most causal passerby that this Santa has not only lost the spirit of the season but also his supposed cheery rapport with the little girl. Her mother Sophie and grandmother Susan reported that the man in the familiar red and white suit totally did not embellish the spirit of the season. Tis the season to be jolly and not sad. This must have been one of Santa’s subordinate clauses at work. Better luck next time Santa. – gc

  1. I did offer to sit on Santa’s knee and tell him what I’d like for Christmas, but even that didn’t bring a smile to his face. In fact I think I frightened him, and not even a gift from the lady elf could change Evie’s demeanour.

  3. She wouldn’t even look at him Gerry!! He made no effort to win her over. don’t think the absence of gloves on Santa’s manicured hands helped.. Kinda spoiled the illusion. Maybe Santa is also a part time hand model??!

    • Good point Sophie. It helps if Santa’s hands are a bit wrinkled from delivering all those toys and not smooth and slender waiting for their next hand lotion commercial. It might have helped if this pretender to the throne were at least married or the father of a few children. Relating to children is an essential part of the job. Merry Christmas Sophie. 🙂

  4. Reblogged this on Nan's Farm-Inside Out and commented:
It might be best to set your expectations a little low when visiting this Santa Claus, the normal friendly front, the patina of joviality, was simply not there. He turned towards my not quite three year old granddaughter and waited for her to speak first and made no effort whatsoever to put this small child at ease.

    • Some Santa Clauses seemed to have forgotten the meaning of their ho-ho-ho Christmas cheer. And you’re right PAt this Santa deserves a big lump of coal in his Xmas stocking ( assuming he wears one) 🙂
