Indoor rink repair generates interest

“A man learns to skate by staggering about and making a fool of himself. Indeed he progresses in all things by resolutely making a fool of himself.” ― George Bernard ShawAdvice to a Young Critic

This past summer the indoor skating rink at West Edmonton Mall underwent some much-needed construction. Front end loaders replaced the ice clearing Zamboni and wooden planks occupied the space where enthusiastic skaters spent much of their time on the ice. People on the second floor seating areas could sip their coffees and watch the construction crews below update the skating floor area. The ice rink is now operational. Public interest in the rink’s repair increased throughout the summer months.  The Edmonton Oiler hockey team usually plays exhibition games here and seniors enjoy using the indoor facilities. – gc
