A gaggle of confusing traffic signs

Life is not always perfect. Like a road, it has many bends, ups and down, but that’s its beauty.” Amit Ray, World Peace: The Voice of a Mountain Bird

This is the time of the year when not only dandelions pock mark a person’s lawn and make looking out your front window uncomfortable but also traffic direction arrows, cones and markers make one’s driving experience to and from work an utter nightmare.

I captured this photo while stopped at a nearby light on a four lane street heading north and south. A few of the orange marker cones before the light had been knocked down by inattentive drivers who did not have their minds or hearts on their driving skills.

On the left side of the photo there is a turning lane designated for right turns for traffic heading in the north to south direction.

If you were foolish enough to ignore the “no left turn”signage you would be greeted by a pair of police cars stationed on the side of the road more than eager to issue you a $250 citation.

Many times a driver has to pay extra attention to not only oncoming traffic but also the newly created traffic lanes that construction crews have established for the even more trouble-free lanes of traffic.

The construction and upgrade of the streets themselves is a minor inconvenience but the receiving of the traffic ticket leaves an indelible mark on one’s courteous good driving mind-set. — gc

  1. Very confusing! Thank goodness I wasn’t driving because it’s a safe bet to assume I would be paying the the $250 fine (citation)

  2. I agree with you about the road signs … confusing as heck!!! But I disagree about the dandelions … and clover!

I LOVE seeing my yard filled with the beauty of nature! I plant flowers, and I take joy in seeing the multitude of planted colour in my front yard. But … OH … the wildflowers in the back, and along the walking path in the local park take my breath away.

It seems they are saying … “mankind, give it your best shot, but WE will survive, WE are nature!!!”

I love them, love the bees that can be seen hovering around them as they go about their business of repollination … so much joy!!!!

      • I never tried dandelion wine … is it sweet? My preference is cream sherry … or Bailey’s Irish Cream … 🙂

      • If I had my “druthers” I too enjoy Bailey’s Irish Cream on the rocks. Great choice. It has been many years since I actually sipped a glass of dandelion wine so to its sweetness or tartness I can only hazard a guess. Thank you for writing. If you ever decide to home brew the wine ( which many folks do) let me know. Until then cheers! 🙂
