“Swear your undying allegiance to me” !

“They’re certainly entitled to think that, and they’re entitled to full respect for their opinions… but before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.” Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

“”I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Trump family for which it stands, one Nation under Don, invisible, with liberty and justice for none.”

In case you have not noticed the White House is in a state of turmoil and distrust somewhat similar to the state of affairs that plagued Caligula and his senate members.

Deception, back stabbing, overt and outright lying and character assassinations are the methods of maintaining control and public chaos for a two-faced president who has exploited and perverted the notion of freedom speech for all via his Twitter account.

He fears that former friends and allies will turn the once proud United States of America into the laughing-stock of the world. He acts as if this has not happened. Hey, get a grip Mr. T.  You sir are the main reason behind the muffled guffaws of the world.

The once proud symbol of America has now morphed into an ostrich sticking its head into the sands of indifference and confusion and hoping that things will eventually end up right.

Demanding pledges of allegiance from members of your team might be the visible last steps of a man doubtful of his own political potency and acting in a way that turns his team of intellectual geniuses into a squad of fumbling and mumbling eunuchs.

It’s time Donald to either fish or cut bait.

Do the country a favor , review your pledge of allegiance to the country and resign.

There will be no stigma of political failure attached to you outright and perhaps Ivanka and Jared ( pronounced jar head)  Kushner can manage a small fashion boutique in the Crimea.

That fate is far better than being a fiddler on the roof of the White House. —  gc

  1. A-freakin’ MEN!

“Do the country a favor , review your pledge of allegiance to the country and resign.” Classic. Now if the anal drip would only DO IT.

I’m afraid, however, that we’re stuck with this degrading situation for the next four (ish) years, because that idiot doesn’t seem to know when to stand down and he has no class nor good taste (IMHO) so thinking he’d do an ethical thing might be a bit of a pipe dream.

You live across the pond don’t you? A citizen of the U.K.? If that’s true count yourself lucky.

Those of us on this side who are U.S. citizens are stuck with this mess, the rest of the world is free (relatively).

  2. Phew!!! I add my amen.

I live south of the border, on the other side of that planned-for but never executed wall.

I still cringe, however, many times a day, at what this man and those too weak or politically-driven to stand up against him have turned our country into.

How much longer can this go on? Has his ego no end???

    • I truly wish Mike Pence would grow some spine and not always be Trump’s go to guy for flimsy excuses. An overly bloated has no limits only never ending expansion. I hope they kick this nut case out of office and soon!
