“In Freud’s theory, the wish-producing, fear-generating power of these body parts lies within them, not, with their strategic position within a historically specific, male-dominant, phallus-favoring, social organization of powers, bodies, and symbols.” ― Jonathan Ned Katz,

A lot of phallic symbols have been displayed in the news recently starting with Trump’s “Mother of All Bombs” to Saturday’s North Korea military parade and festivities .
North Korea displayed what appeared to be new long-range and submarine-based missiles on the 105th birth anniversary of its founding father, Kim Il Sung, on Saturday, as a nuclear-powered U.S. aircraft carrier group steamed toward the region.
Missiles appeared to be the main theme of the giant parade, with Kim’s grandson, leader Kim Jong Un, taking time to greet the commander of the Strategic Forces, the branch of the military that oversees the missile arsenal.
It is getting boring to watch all these displays of male prowess and capability which by and large amount to a hill of beans long-term.
It would be nice to see a few Disney floats or Wal-Mart entries in the list of parade entries but in many countries with the “might is right” philosophy of life you show the other bad dudes what you have to play with and then it becomes a game of military chicken politely labeled “brinkmanship.
The good news:next month if you have any vacation plans in the offing Russia has it very own May Day Parade of military offerings.
