Belated but Happy Women’s Day!  Kudos to one and all!

Yesterday March 8th 2017 was a day of “choice” for women around the world. They could take the day off, spend time with their families or take to the streets and various other gathering venues to support the important fact and reality that “women are here to stay!”.

Another mind-set for the women’s appreciation day event saw an almost equal number of women staying on the job and proving to a skeptical male dominated world that women provide the backbone, moral support and innate drive to make this troubled world  much better, safer and healthier place in which to live.

A number of female fashion designers, authors and medical/technical and business professionals were also divided as to their personal approach to the celebration of the Woman’s Day event. Many felt that women taking a public stand did not necessarily paint a glowing portrait of women in the real world. Foe these women the public displays of support were more damaging than helpful.

Others felt that women coming together and rallying established a public front demanding recognition , respect and appreciation for their important contributions to society . For these individuals the rallies were made a serious impression on a male dominated work force.

Whatever your personal conviction or position on the global event might be let me say that women ARE here to stay and that the male portion of the population better start owning up to the fact that women are their equals and do share in the responsibility for the fate of mankind and betterment of society. — gc

    • You are most welcome. Many times the important contributions of women are routinely overlooked by an “old boys/ girls” network that concerns itself more with their image than valuable cotributions made at times by the vitally important support structure that makes everything work smoothly. Thank you for writing. Be strong. Stay safe.
