Past glitter of the Oval Office tarnished

“We must get the American public to look past the glitter, beyond the showmanship, to the reality, the hard substance of things. And we’ll do it not so much with speeches that will bring people to their feet as with speeches that bring people to their senses.” —Mario Cuomo

Throughout the jaded and dark history of the human race it happens that great minds do think alike. With the erection of the Great Wall of Trump waiting in the political ring for approval one is reminded of the ancient pharaohs or kings of medieval times who built great pyramids or castles to serve as a lasting memorial to their greatness and foresight.

Happy “he’s not my” President day!!

Crowds are once again taking to the streets to show their approval or disapproval for a president who has in a very short period of time managed to both endear and alienate himself from the inhabitants of the country that is now being hailed as the land of the free and the home of the knave.

He is a very successful businessman and insightful guru who was elected to lead a struggling country out of the depths of economic and social despair and into better times bustling with milk and honey and golden opportunities for all. A fair-haired Moses endowed with god like charisma, wisdom and clarity of thought and insight.

A caring and resourceful man who by way of an executive order will soon send undesirables back to their country of origin and if you think about it turn Mexico into an American version of the Russian Gulag Archipelago without the nefarious detention camps we have all heard of from recent and past migrants from that country.

But Mr Trump will now be faced with an important employment problem: where will he get the supply of workers to construct such an important political statement to his greatness?

A frequent reader and commenter of my website wrote recently about a comment  from her grandson’s Hispanic friend: “just who is he going to get to build that wall?” She thought it was priceless from a sixteen year old.

Surely he should by now be willing to accept a majority of these undesirables as willing employees  who for years have labored in sweat shops and fast food joints for low wages and no benefits and do not mind being exploited by unorthodox employers.

If history sets any examples it is the Pharoah who forced slaves to build bricks from straw and mud. In this instance business friendS of the president will supply the steel and supplies . I.C.E will provide a more than grateful work force to exploit.

Is that style of give and take really a part of the barter system? — gc
