A few new perspectives on mall interiors

“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.”  — Walt Disney.

Is that strip mall down the street a few minutes from your residence as attractive a place to visit on dark stormy nights as it is in the summer time when the weather is warm, the sun still shining brightly and the darkest corners of the mall interior free of unseen threats? It is in essence a matter of our interior perspective. The structures remain the same. Our attitudes towards them change with the seasons. In this photo is the person on the right side of the photo entering a doorway a threat or an innocent shopper? There is no definitive answer. How you interpret the scenario is a personal matter. Architects can only do so much. —  gc
