Happy (re)New(al) Year to one and all!

“Every single cell in the human body replaces itself over a period of seven years. That means there’s not even the smallest part of you now that was part of you seven years ago.” Steven Hall, The Raw Shark Texts

Ever notice at this time of year that so many friends, family members, neighbors and business colleagues publicly display their flaws from the past year and resolutely promise to make the coming new year different from the old one? They are similar to the guy in this photo who puts all his trash bags on public display for the world to see. The analogy fits the spirit of the season. We all want to make improvements and changes in our lives and hope that by displaying our shortcomings and bad habits we will find the resolve to make the new year different from the one that is quickly fading into history. The challenge rests in keeping your promises to yourself to improve. — gc
