Coating of snow offers festive covering

“In winter the stars seem to have rekindled their fires, the moon achieves a fuller triumph, and the heavens wear a look of a more exalted simplicity.” ~John Burroughs, “The Snow-Walkers,” 1866

We all secretly dream of having a white Christmas. We know that too much of the white stuff can make the entire season hazardous and unruly. But during this time of the year we all hope and pray that a light sprinkling of snow will grace the landscape and cover up all those blemishes that make themselves known after the snow has melted. There is a purity and a majestic aura that the snow offers. A family sleigh ride in the countryside is an impossibility without its appearance. It adds magic and panache to this special day. — gc

Quote of the week: “What is true is already so. Owning up to it doesn't make it worse. Not being open about it doesn't make it go away. And because it's true, it is what is there to be interacted with. Anything untrue isn't there to be lived. People can stand what is true, for they are already enduring it.” ― Eugene T. Gendlin, Focusing
