Helping parents and kids cope better

“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.” Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You.

Children. Candy. Christmas. Need I say more? This is the time of the year that is stressful to both children and their parents. The marketing hype and many parents own insecurity tend to affect their offspring negatively. The constant ingestion of candy and other sweets treats ensures that the youngsters are revved up for action. Their unbridled enthusiasm seeks some outlet to reduce their stress. Many malls this time of the year realize the predicament and have set up impromptu workshops to help both anxious children and their parents cope better with the reality of Christmas. The workshops are a blessing for bewildered parents and provide an outlet for the youngsters to chill out. — gc

Quote of the week: “What is true is already so. Owning up to it doesn't make it worse. Not being open about it doesn't make it go away. And because it's true, it is what is there to be interacted with. Anything untrue isn't there to be lived. People can stand what is true, for they are already enduring it.” ― Eugene T. Gendlin, Focusing
