Fishing for possible frozen pipe problems

“…as the old saying goes: if you teach a man to fish, he will feed himself for a lifetime. But if you just give him a fishing pole, he’ll have to teach himself.” Zechariah Barrett

For the past week the temperatures have remained fixed at the -25 degree Celsius mark. Frozen fingers, toes and noses have been the norm. Sewer grids have been emitting steam as if they had been jogging in the frozen tundra of the north. When pipes undergo such abusive weather patterns some are destined to give up the ghost and burst. To help prevent this from happening municipal maintenance crews are dispatched to investigate potential trouble spots. The man above might be freezing with the cold but he is totally attentive to the demands of his job. Without folks like him winter would be a soggy nightmare. — gc
