Spritely fountains percolate enthusiasm

“The best way to wake yourself is to brew a pot of fresh coffee, then run it through the machine a second time using the old grounds. While you’re doing that, make an espresso then add that to a mug of the double-brewed coffee. In my house, we call it a red-eye.” —    Ozzy Osbourne quotes

While many coffee lovers will heartily recommend enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee for everyone just getting up first thing in the morning or feeling a bit low during their workday there are other ways that can also help to percolate a bubbly sense of fun and enthusiasm. The mall featured above ( West Edmonton Mall in Alberta Canada) employing creative design has brought the outdoors indoors. The sound of the gurgling waters helps not only cool the indoor temperature for shoppers but also helps soothe the jangled nerves of many hurried mall walkers. Walden Pond should have been so high-tech and up-to-date. —  gc

Quote of the week: “What is true is already so. Owning up to it doesn't make it worse. Not being open about it doesn't make it go away. And because it's true, it is what is there to be interacted with. Anything untrue isn't there to be lived. People can stand what is true, for they are already enduring it.” ― Eugene T. Gendlin, Focusing

  1. I’ve never been, lived in Calgary, but the mall was being built at that time. I have family that lives in Edmonton, and they spend considerable time there so I hear.

  2. I love red-eyes 🙂 I also like that idea of bringing outdoors in.
