Ancient art of shoe repair still thriving

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who’ll decide where to go.” —  Dr. Seuss

When was the last time your personally visited a shoe repair outlet to have a pair of your very special favorite shoes updated? If you are like most folks today you are caught up in the wear and discard phenomenon associated with the less expensive shoes offered in mega mall outlets. Even though the throngs of people who frequented such shops has diminished over time the skill and the talent involved in this line of work has not lessened. At this repair outlet in Edmonton business is booming. I was told that this is the time of year when people want their shoes repaired. It is not an ancient art lost to modern times. — gc
