The subdued shades of a winter storm

“There are moments when a man’s imagination, so easily subdued to what it lives in, suddenly rises above its daily level and surveys the long windings of destiny.” — Edith Wharton

It is truly difficult to appreciate the full artistic beauty of a winter storm while the wind is howling, the driving visibility down to zero and the temperatures drop to an uncomfortable level. However when you open your window shades and peer outside the next day you are treated to a visual delight of subdued colors, nuances and symmetry attributable to the artistry of Mother Nature. — gc
