A clumsy attempt to preserve winter

“Nature is so powerful, so strong. Capturing its essence is not easy – your work becomes a dance with light and the weather. It takes you to a place within yourself.” — Annie Leibovitz

Mother Nature is at times a tease, a friend, a trickster and always incredibly fickle. Her capricious mannerisms often time trick you to carry an umbrella when rain is forecasted, plan a picnic or else prepare to get a tan in unexpected cloudy weather. Last week this grand old lady clumsily fumbled the ball and dumped an appreciable amount of snow in the area. The children rushed out to build a cadre of snowmen only to have them melt a few days later. — g.c.

Quote of the week: “What is true is already so. Owning up to it doesn't make it worse. Not being open about it doesn't make it go away. And because it's true, it is what is there to be interacted with. Anything untrue isn't there to be lived. People can stand what is true, for they are already enduring it.” ― Eugene T. Gendlin, Focusing
