Sometimes deadlines are meaningless

“It’s better to be slow and careful in the right direction than to be fast and careless on the wrong path. Be sure that you are on the right path before you begin to take your steps!” ― Israelmore Ayivor, Daily Drive 365

I am beginning to think that deadlines are meaningless in the construction industry. Street repair that was supposed to be completed by the end of August are now to be completed by mid-October. This roof repair project which began in late June is still on the go. The workers might be slow and meticulous plying their craft but the frustration they create is at times unbearable. The roofing team told me that their employer had scheduled them to complete a number of projects at the same time which meant that many on the go were put in limbo. That was not the answer I wanted to hear but suspected it was the reason.
