My blissful escape from technology

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” ― Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods

I recently enjoyed seven exciting days on Saturna Island , B.C. revelling in the clean air, enchanting landscapes and freedom from computers, cell phones and screeching tires and auto exhaust. Pictured here on the left is a tool shed, small wooden bench and adjacent former residence used before the main lodging was erected. It was a most welcomed escape from hi-tech reality. Living here makes a person more self-reliant and more attune to the ways of Mother Nature.
