Storms weaken wooden balconies

“We live in a world that is beyond our control, and life is in a constant flux of change. So we have a decision to make: keep trying to control a storm that is not going to go away or start learning how to live within the rain.” ― Glenn Pemberton, Hurting with God

This is the time of the year when we tend to entertain more outdoors. The barbecue set is outside , hot dogs and hamburgers sizzling on the grill and our guests sitting comfortably on our balconies in lawn chairs. It is also the time to ensure that your wooden balconies are safe and not in dire need of repair. Too many accidents and injuries happen when these protective structures collapse.

In the summer we all tend to abandon the safety of our enclosed suites and venture outside to enjoy the fresh air, the warming sunlight and the  freedom to cook on our outdoor grill and barbecue sets.

Keep in mind that aging wooden balconies and protective guard railing are influenced by the weather and age and deteriorate over time.

Enjoy the outdoor lifestyle the summer weather offers but also check your balconies for wear and tear.

Play it safe. Enjoy the summer without injuries.
