Rebuilding bonds of mutual support

A perfect relationship isn’t actually perfect at all, it consists of two people who NEVER give up on each other despite any hurt or pain.”

No one can truthfully say that bottle collecting is a profession that encourages work enthusiasm or close relationships. Your work station is a shopping cart. You are outside rain or shine. The hours are long. But an early morning hug from someone who cares makes it all seem worth the effort.

The couple in the photos above were sitting patiently outside a local bottle recycling depot at 7:20 a.m. on a sunny and mild morning. They were waiting to start their day.

I thought they were waiting for the depot to open at 8 a.m. but I was wrong. They were merely pausing to rest and take stock of the day ahead.

They were obviously both exhausted and enjoyed a cigarette to help them rebuild their resolve for the day.

The power of a hug to heal and help encourage another person was evident in this photo.

After a few more moments of friendly chatter the couple stood up, grabbed their cart and began their long and arduous day ahead.
